When you start out in Farm Town you get a nice, square, flat farm to
work with that has no diversity in the geography. Not very realistic,
but ideal. However, if you want to add some hills to your farm, there
are some clever users that have found a way to do so. Or at least make
it appear as if this is so. It is an optical illusion created by the
way in which items are placed next to each other that makes it look
like you have a hill.
How To Make Hills in Farm Town Method 1: Crates and Flowers
First place a box down, then a flower in front of it to help cover
the box. This will represent the bottom of the hill that is at a lower
level. Next, to create the illusion of the top of the hill, you will
need to place another flower one space away from the box, and one space
up. This is a difficult process to describe but if you view the above
image, you should see how this all comes together. After setting up the
first box and set of flowers you will probably not “see” it just yet,
but after adding several it will become more apparent. Finish this
easily by closing off to a border of your farm.
How To Make Hills in Farm Town Method 2: Hedges
Making hills with hedges looks pretty nice, and you don’t have to
plant flowers in front of them like you do boxes, which we did in order
to hide that it is a box. The hedge looks like a very good organic
structure that could be the side of a hill. Again, we take the same
concept as before and apply it to these hedges.
As you can see, I’m standing “on top” of the hill in this picture.
This one shows the end result a little better than the previous picture
because it is closed off on the ends. The most important part is to not
place anything behind the shrub so that it gives away that it is not
elevated. Also, placing the flowers on top make it quite convincing.
