"That which does not kill us makes us stronger."
- Friedrich Nietzsche
What
good is a mob game if you can't fight other mobsters? Fighting is a
great way to make some cash, get experience, and get payback on your
enemies. Here are some tips to getting the most out of your fights.
Mob Size Is King
At lower levels, mob size really doesn't matter much. But as you
progress, it becomes HUGE. By the time you are level 20, try to build
up your mob to 20 people, and as a general rule, try to add a new
member each level.
As you progress, the size of your mob will take over from your stats
in determining wins. As a general rule, I attack mobsters with no more
than 2/3 my own mobs size. This almost guarantees victory, and makes
fighting to level and gain experience viable for everyone, even if you
are set up for defense.
On defense, you gain the same benefits as you do attacking, but you
also make yourself much less of a target for random attacks if you have
a large mob.
Properly Equip Your Mob
This is very important, and a mistake people often make. You must make
sure that each member of your mob is equipped with the most powerful
items you can have at each level. Your mob members can only carry one
gun, wear one piece of armor, and drive one vehicle. So buy just enough
to cover each of these, and nothing more. Also remember to include
yourself. So if you have a mob of 30 and you're level 30, you should
have 31 Grenade Launchers, 31 Body Armors, and 31 SWAT Bearcats to be
fully equipped. Having any more is a waste, having any less will
decrease your strength in fights.
Another thing to pay attention to, when you get up
at higher levels. Some equipment, such as the turret armored humvees,
require additional weapons to get their max benifit. On the humvees,
you not only get the bonus for the hummer, you also get the bonuses for
the minigun that mounts on the top. Basically, its like carrying an
extra weapon. So make sure if you have 100 humvees, also have 100
miniguns. These are in addition to any weapons your mobsters carry.
Your Stats This is
going to depend upon what type of character you are running. If you
want to constantly fight, make sure to put plenty in attack, a little
in defense, and some extra health. This will allow you to gain more
money from fights, and obviously win more.
If you are running a wealthy character making tons of
money, invest heavily in defense. This will not only help you win
fights against attackers, and even if you will lose, the attacker won't
get any money off you.
And unless you are running a
straight fighter-type character, don't waste level points on stamina.
Stamina regenerates very fast anyway, and most people don't need to
bother with it until they are in their 30's level-wise.
Spread The Wealth (And The Attacks)
Some disagree with this, but unless you are a bad-ass with a huge mob,
don't attack people more than once. Each time I play, I only attack
people once, and if I recognize a name between sessions, I avoid it. If
you attack people more than once, emotions start taking over, and
people will recruit their friends and mob to take you out. I take it a
step further. Since I'm a rich mobster, if someone attacks me 3-4
times, I just hire a hit and I'm done with it (another advantage to
building up your financial equity).
The only way attacking someone repeatedly works in
the long run is if the mobster you attack has a really bad fight
record. In that case, either the person hasn't logged on in months and
doesn't care, or they are weak and used to getting their butt's kicked.
If you find an easy mark like this, copy the link from the address bar
of the browser and save it. You can repeatedly attack them whenever you
want to make easy money or need experience.
Do Your Homework At
lower levels, its often helpful to look at the stat sheet of the
mobster you are stalking before you attack. Look for these signs:
If
they have a really good win-loss record, have fouht a huge number of
times, and they don't have much property, avoid them. They are setup
for fighting. Now some will argue that you should attack them because
they probably have all their stats in attack and little in defense. But
do you really want someone getting payback on you every day for the
next six months? I didn't think so. If they
have a bunch of high value property, and a mediocre win-loss record,
they are probably set up defensively. If you are a fighter, attack them
as they will generally give out good money and you will probably beat
them. If you are setup defensively, you will probably lose this fight
as well. -
If you see someone with a really
bad fight record, not much property, and only one of each weapon type,
attack. They most likely either don't know what they are doing, or
don't care. They usually will have a very small mob too. Attack away.
Emotion Clouds Judgement
The biggest thing to remember is this is just a game. You will not win
every fight, and sometimes its best just to step away and forget about
someone. Constantly going after people, punching everyone who attacks
you, and holding grudges will catch up with you. Everyone has got
friends in this game, and either they will get you, or they will hire a
hit on you. So keep your cool, this isn't personal!
Pay Attention To Your Opponent's Level
When you are at lower levels, you really don't need to pay attention to
the level of your opponent as you are all within a couple levels of
each other. However, as you progress to higher and higher levels, this
will not be the case. By the time you are level 80 you could very well
end up fighting mobsters in the mid 90's in level. And at higher
levels, the disparity between levels is even greater. Its a mistake
players (like me) make when we fight and only pay attention to Mob
size. Take your time and make sure you're not biting off more than you
can chew, unless you ridiculously outnumber your opponent
